So, when I ask the students for ‘their ‘word.
Their ‘existence’ word ...
Their ‘life’ word ...
 
Most found it very difficult to describe WHO they were being.
 
They just were doing!!!
 
They did not know what a ‘being’ was.

You invent who you are?
Who you are being?
Who you want to be?
 
YOU choose!
YOUR choice!
 
They find that challenging – at first!
They have forgotten – or is it – they have NEVER known.
 
Clean slate.
Find the word
The word that works for them
 
NOW, right  NOW – Yah!
 
Mostly they start and choose a ‘safe’ word, like is in the school ‘declaration’.
 
Respect, responsibility, excellence…
 
Yet, hey – they already have that!
 
One girl said ‘respect’!
You already have that – I said.
How about confidence to accept that fact that you have it?
 
Ok – she says.
I get that.
